Week #1B Exercise

Don't cheat!

The purpose of this exercise is to help you learn how to search a document like the Annotated NISPOM in Adobe Acrobat Reader and to compare your speed there with your ability to search your paper NISPOM.  If you "cheat" to increase your speed for either part of the exercise, you will decrease the accuracy of your ending comparison.

The exercise has several parts:

  • Introduction

  • A timed exercise in which you look up answers to five questions using your paper copy of the NISPOM;

  • A tutorial on the contents/structure of the Annotated NISPOM

  • A tutorial on PDF search techniques using the Annotated NISPOM and the same questions used above; and finally

  • A timed exercise in which you look up answers to give new questions using the Annotated NISPOM.
